- HomeThe PUMICESTONE PASSAGE MARINE PARK is recognised as one of the most important bird and marine habitats on the east coast of Australia, and is considered to be the smallest estaurine area in the world that has a permanent population of Dugong. Cruises aboard ‘The Ferryman’ gives you the chance of seeing Dugong, Dolphins, Turtle, Jabiru, Swans, Sea Eagles, Osprey, Kangaroos and Dingoes as well as many of the 360 different bird species – many of which migrate from the Northern Hemisphere to these shores each year. This marine park is on the CAMBA and JAMBA agreements and is a registered RAMSAR site.

Pumicestone Passage
Pumicestone Passage is located between Caloundra in the North, Bribie Island in the East and Deception Bay in the South. It is a narrowing passage of tidal salt water lying between the mainland towns of Ningi, Toorbul and Donnybrook, and Bribie Island. The island is accessible in the South by a 1.8km traffic bridge built in 1963.

We have arranged for the local community nursery to propagate local large trees (to offset our carbon emissions) and plant these in protected areas on the Island in rehabilitated areas for local wildlife.
We have arranged for more trees than is required to be planted on our behalf.
