This is A FANTASTIC

all day Explorer cruise

 dictated by the tides and can only be scheduled on certain days of the year to allow through-passage to the top end of Pumicestone Passage, in view of caloundra.

As we head off from Bribie Island, we will cruise past the shipwreck of the SS Avon and then past the townshops of Toorbul & donnybrook and through some acknowledged dugong-feeding sea grass beds.

Heading North, with morning tea being served, we will then pass Mission Point on Bribie, then up around Tripcony's bight (the first 'no take' fishing zone in Queensland) through Lime Pocket and Jabiru Nest, then up into the narrow passages and the intertidal banks of the Upper Pumicestone Passage.  These areas are rarely experienced by visitors due to the shallow waters and regularly exposed banks which can be a major Hazard to inexperienced boaties.

We then Cruise through the junction of the joining tides (tide coming down From Caloundra, and tide coming up from Bribie) known as the 'Narrows, W's & Skids' - this area can get down to Only 10cm at low tide!

Once we arrive at Lighthouse Reach, we have a bit of a leg stretch where the city of caloundra can be viewed.  Lunch is served on board then we head back with Afternoon tea served on the return journey.

During this Cruise, some truly wonderful areas of this marine park will be experienced and we will be following the channel around the islands that matthew flinders charted in 1799 at the tender age of 25.

You will see no other expanse of magnificent untouched natural wetland environment so close to a major capital city.

Weather:  Because the Pumicestone Passage is so protected, wind generally is not a concern with this cruise, with the majority of the passage sheltered from any winds.   rain has rarely affected our cruises due to the design of the vessel with seating for 55 passengers available under cover.  Most times, one side of the boat is always available to be left open and out of any oncoming weather.  If for any reason the cruise is unsafe to proceed, we will contact you.

Although some months may not have suitable weekend tides for a Skids Run, if you have a group that wishes to arrange a SKIDS CRUISE for during the week, please contact us for suitable dates and tides (as listed below).

dECEMBER:   Mon 12th 9am, tues 13th 9.30am, wed 14th 10am.

Price includes:
Morning tea,  Buffet lunch and Afternoon tea. (Those tours that start later in the day will include lunch, aft tea & nibbles at sunset or Aft tea, nibbles at sunset & dinner or similar.)

Drinks can be purchased on board throughout the day - we are fully licensed - and nothing better than a wine or beer while soaking up this amazing environment!!  (no byo)

Skids Cruises MAY NEED TO be pre-paid and

this will be arranged when you book.
